How to Lose 10 Lbs in 10 Days
Need to drop some considerable weight in a very short period of time? It will require some dramatic lifestyle changes, with your nutrition being the center of attention. It’s time to harness your inner health nut and fit freak! Here is a guide for how to lose 10 lbs in 10 days.
Please, Not the “C” Word
Simmer down; I’m not going to suggest that you go "carb-free"; but if you want to lose 10 lbs in 10 days, you will need to go grain-free. While most of America has made going grain-free synonymous with going carb-free, they are not one-in-the-same. Carb-free diets are actually very dangerous, but we’ll save that topic for another post.
Back to your diet; I’m all about simplicity. And I don’t like people telling me what all I can’t have; the rebel in me kicks in and insists that I do the exact thing I was told not to do. So in the spirit of keeping things simple (and appeasing your inner-rebel), here is a list of what you can eat (you can call it "The How to Lose 10 lbs in 10 Days Diet"):
- Lean proteins (chicken, fish, turkey, etc)
- Healthy Fats (butter, oils, avocados, etc)
- Limit your intake of starchy vegetables (corn, carrots, peas, potatoes, etc) to no more than one serving a day.
- Limit your intake of fruit to no more than two servings a day.
- Limit your intake of liquid dairy to no more than one serving a day (cottage cheese, milk, etc).
Other than that, guess what: You get to enjoy an unlimited amount of everything else! All the lean proteins, non-starchy vegetables, nuts, healthy fats, eggs, and cheese as your appetite will allow! Flies in the face of everything the Weight Loss Industry has told you, right? Ever wonder why the industry’s revenues continue to grow exponentially each year (as of 2012, the industry netted 58 BILLION dollars)? Because the nutritional advice they give doesn’t work—science is proving that! But again, we’ll save that for another post.
Wake That Body Up!
The next step to how to lose 10 lbs in 10 days is get your body moving. Muscle movement is what burns calories and burning calories burns fat. Before you begin an exercise routine, keep in mind that you will automatically consume fewer calories due to going grain-free—the average is 350-450 calories less a day.
My suggestion is to focus on total body strengthening (lifting weights) every other day and no more than 60 minutes of aerobic cardio 2-3 times a week. Burning too many calories will harm your efforts, so don’t go overboard on the exercise.
Lastly, strive to drink half your weight in ounces of water. Burning fat will cause toxins to be released into your blood stream which can wreck all kinds of havoc on your body. Drinking enough water will flush the toxins out and keep your body functioning at its full potential.
